Monthly Author Check-In: The Home Stretch Edition (July 2022)

What I’m Writing: Janie One More Time
What I’m Reading: Unwritten by Tara Gilboy
What I’m Loving: Watercolor paints, much to my surprise
I’m releasing a new book next month, and I’m kind of freaking out about it.
For starters, I know I haven’t been shouting this news from the rooftops anywhere near as much as I should have, and I feel a little guilty about that. It’s not from lack of excitement—I’m just out of practice, and I honestly find it difficult to update people on my progress when my writing process is so weird.
(Because it is so weird. Seriously, even telling other writers what I am up to gets me raised eyebrows and confusion.)
But at this point, we’ve entered into a stage where the end feels impossibly far away, until suddenly it’s done—and this is how I know I am actually almost done. Which I know sounds counterintuitive, but like I said: it’s a weird process.
You’ll be getting your hands on it soon, though, and despite my nerves and deadline stress, I really am so, so excited to share this one with you. I’m playing around with some tropes I absolutely adore in this book, and there was an unexpected character dynamic that I have completely fallen in love with. I can’t wait for you all to read it!
In the meantime, be sure to sign up to my mailing list to be the first to hear when it’s released.
